Gorkahpur - Pokhara

like the LP says it is just a through way to Nepal

rain 13 °C

We woke to drumbs beating and military marching! The train staion was in front of our room and the military behind! We arrived late the night before and took a place across from the train station, it wasn't pretty in the dark and even more depressing in the light. And took the food downstairs where there was a close encounter of the rat kind and more flies then on a large poop-poop platter...we are still shaking our heads at this decision.
We managed to get the first bus to the Nepali border 2.5 hours away, we managed to get there only 1 hour late and sort out the border crossing - woo wee what and adventure. Lesson 265 having mutiple visa stamps with your picture does cause problems.
After that we negoiated for the next hour and a half with a taxi to Pokhara (we were ready for a bus break) we got lucky again and rode with a nice man from Pokhara. 6 hours, 2 pukes (out of Allyson), and countless turns later we arrived in Pokhara, the taxi was really a good idea Allyson would have been green otherwise.
